Cupcake frenzy

The kitchen looked like this

but the fridge looked like this!

It was Reid Justin's (oldest son) birthday yesterday and I wanted to do something special for his housewarming/birthday party. So I searched the net and found three bakeshop style cupcake recipes. They all sounded so delicious that I decided that mini was the way to go. That way no one would have to choose just one flavor.

Here they are!

Sprinkles Cupcakes' Strawberry Cupcakes from Oprah.com - this recipe link even has videos!

Banana Cupcakes with Honey-Cinnamon Frosting at marthastewart.com - my favorite and I made them slightly healthier by replacing half the melted butter with oil

Meyer Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes at marthastewart.com

The secret - homemade lemon curd filling - so good!

Don't they look fun? Can you see the bee that zoomed by just as I snapped the picture?

The new house is very modern - so I couldn't see using a fussy cupcake stand. The solution? Cedar planks (for grilling salmon)

I think it works

Sylie and Cooper approve

The party was great!

Popular local band, Hello Helicopter came to play - Jamie (youngest son) just happens to be lead singer

Fans - Jenny (daughter) , Jason and Mason

Happy Birthday Justin!

  1. Lisa sent me the link and I must say I am a huge fan already. The cupcakes were divine! Thank you for posting the recipes. I will try every one.

I also love the title of your blog and the meaning behind it. I will have to look up the scripture behind it and give it further study.

It was so nice to meet you & again, thanks for sharing!
